Waist waders, as the name implies, are a waist high wader. Waist waders
are popular among fishermen and duck hunters alike and are found in
camouflage patterns and solid colors. Most often, hunters select camo
waist waders with insulated boots for concealment and protection from
cold waters. Our best selling waist wader for fishing is the
breathable, stockingfoot waist wader like the Frogg Toggs Hellbender
waist wader. A few brands offer waist waders with suspenders, but most
waist high waders use a wading belt to keep them in place.
Waist waders provide less protection than chest waders but more than hip waders. They are specially designed
for water up to the mid-thigh and feature the same style as a baggy pair of pants. Like pants, waist waders include belt
loops and a wader belt to keep the wader in place. Waist-high waders have a 2 distinct advantages: (1) They provide more coverage than hip waders while less restrictive than chest waders. (2) The waders upper body is exposed for comfort.
