Foreign dominance and wars presented obstacles and opportunity so in the 1800s Pietro Antonio Beretta (1791 – 1853), demonstrated the Berreta products and collected orders as he traveled across Italy. Continuing in his father's footsteps, Pietro Antonio’s son Giuseppe (1840 – 1903) continued to demonstrate Beretta's products and uncompromising quality and began international distribution making Beretta available the world over.
In the early 1900s, Pietro (1870 – 1957) took control of the Company and introduced modern manufacturing methods. Under his direction, Beretta introduced simplified assemblies and new mechanisms while obtaining many patents for these inventions.
